Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 22, 2026
Praxis ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Praxis mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Your name and email — Your name is used to identify you within discussion groups and is stored locally on your device and on our servers. Your email address is collected during onboarding and stored on our servers for account identification and support purposes.
- Reflections and journal entries — Your written and voice-transcribed responses to session prompts. Stored locally on your device unless you choose to submit them to a group.
- Group participation data — When you join or create a discussion group, your name and reflections are shared with other group members via our servers.
Information Collected Automatically
- Anonymous usage analytics — We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage data such as screen views, feature usage, and app version. This data does not identify you personally. You can opt out of analytics at any time in the App's Profile settings.
- Device information — Basic device type and operating system version, collected as part of anonymous analytics.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect phone numbers or physical addresses.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not use advertising identifiers or track you across other apps.
How We Use Your Information
- Reflections and journal entries — Stored locally on your device to support your learning journey. When you choose to generate discussion questions or submit reflections to a group, your responses are sent to our servers.
- AI processing — When you generate discussion questions or group summaries, your reflections are processed by a third-party AI service (Anthropic) to create personalized content. Before this happens, you will be asked for your consent. Participant identities are anonymized before being sent to the AI service. Your data is not used to train AI models.
- Group features — When you submit reflections to a group, your name and responses are visible to other group members. Group data is stored on our servers (hosted by Supabase).
- Analytics — Anonymous usage data helps us understand how the App is used and improve the experience.
Data Storage and Security
- Local data — Reflections, journal entries, and progress are stored on your device using secure local storage. This data is not backed up to our servers unless you explicitly submit it to a group.
- Server data — Group reflections, group summaries, and reports are stored on servers hosted by Supabase (infrastructure provided by Amazon Web Services). Data is encrypted in transit using TLS.
- AI processing — Reflections sent for AI processing are transmitted securely to Anthropic's API. Anthropic does not retain your data for model training. See Anthropic's privacy policy for more details.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:
- With group members — When you join a group and submit reflections, your name and responses are visible to other participants in that group.
- With service providers — We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
- Supabase — Database hosting for group features
- Anthropic — AI processing for discussion questions and group summaries
- PostHog — Anonymous usage analytics
- As required by law — We may disclose information if required by legal process or to protect the safety of our users.
Your Choices
- Analytics opt-out — You can disable anonymous usage analytics in Profile > Usage Analytics.
- AI consent — You will be asked for consent before your reflections are processed by AI. You can use the App without using AI features.
- Group participation — Submitting reflections to a group is optional. You control when and what you share.
- Data deletion — You can delete all your data (both on-device and from our servers) from Profile > Delete My Data. This removes your profile, reflections, journal entries, progress, and group contributions. You can also contact us at support@praxis.co to request data deletion.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@praxis.co.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
